Notes of travelers from Alexander Akopov

Akopov Alexander Dmitrievich was born in 1970 in Moscow. In 1988, the artist graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Arts. One of the most significant years in the life of Alexander was 1997, this year he graduated from the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and founded the Moscow Association of Artists. Not so long ago, Akopov joined the International Federation of Artists of UNESCO, and his works began to appear frequently at foreign exhibitions. According to the artist, he refers to his favorite genres landscapes, still lifes and household compositions.

Alexander Akopov's business card is a series of paintings "About Tandem", which captures the two most influential political figures of the Russian Federation, namely, the Prime Minister and the President. The canvases depict how they engage in active sports, record television addresses to the people and travel around the world, doing it all together. Cloths made a real sensation, provoking an active polemic in the Internet communities among supporters and opponents of the two leaders of the state. "About Tandem" was written a lot in various media, as well as a series of works was mentioned in several TV news about contemporary Russian painting.

Mandatory attribute of the tandem in the journey was the chess board. There are many disputes about the hidden meaning in the layout of chess pieces, many eminent chess players tried to analyze the game and anticipate the outcome of the battle. It is striking that in many works the president looks more confident, at times even an aggressive player, while an easy, ingratiating smile gives out to the prime minister an inexperienced lover. It is not surprising that almost all parties remain for the president, but sometimes he still gives a chance to a beginner.

As a talented artist admits, in a series of works "About Tandem" he presents contemporary painting of Russia, which can be perceived without any stamps, stereotyped thoughts and any political prejudices.
